Brittlebush is one of my favorite plants to see in the Anza Borrego desert region. It blooms reliably even in the lowest rainfall years. The individual flowers stand up in mass above the plant, which has beautiful silvery gray leaves. One of these days I will paint larger more detailed version, but this small piece captures the exuberance of spring in the desert.
