The desert willow is one of those rare instances of a tree in the desert. This deciduous species bloom profusely in spring and survive on little rainfall, despite its name. Ranging in color from pale pinks to bright magentas, these flowers are hummingbird and bee magnets, making them great choices for a dry habitat garden in Southern California.
